Frequently Asked Questions about Psychology in Mojácar
In-Person Sessions

How long do sessions last?
Individual sessions are approximately 50 minutes, while couples or family therapy sessions last between 60 and 75 minutes.
Is online therapy available?
If you cannot attend in person or have limited time, you have the option to conduct sessions without having to travel. Online sessions have the same structure and quality as in-person sessions.
Will everything I share be confidential?
Yes. Everything discussed during therapy is strictly confidential, protected by professional and legal obligations. The only exception is situations where there is a serious risk of harm, which are explained at the beginning of the process.
When will I start to notice improvements?
It is very possible that you will feel a sense of relief and well-being from the very first session. Creating a space that is entirely for you will make you feel validated and understood.
As you progress in therapy, you will acquire various tools and change the way you view certain situations. This will help you develop greater flexibility and mental calm, allowing you to face increasingly greater challenges.
Organizing Sessions
How often should I attend therapy?
Sessions are typically held once a week, and as the therapeutic process advances, sessions will become more spaced out.
How many sessions do I need?
On average, the therapeutic process can last between 8 and 12 sessions. The number largely depends on the issue you are seeking therapy for, and it is common to discover other related sources of distress.
What is the cost of sessions?
Individual sessions are €60, and couples therapy sessions are €90. Additionally, session packages are available to make them more affordable.
For family sessions, the price depends on the number of family members attending therapy.
Is there a cancellation policy?
At least 24 hours' notice is required to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations are subject to a fee.

Your First Session

What happens in the first session?
When we meet, a thorough initial assessment will be conducted: what brings you to therapy, your personal history, and your goals for therapy. Additionally, you will have a space to ask questions and familiarize yourself with the approach.
There is no pressure; it's simply a conversation.
Do I need to prepare anything before starting therapy?
No prior preparation is necessary. It may be helpful to organize your thoughts about what brings you to therapy and how you hope it can help you. But the most important thing is to arrive as yourself.
I'm nervous about starting therapy or undecided, is that normal?
Absolutely. Starting any process that we know involves changes can make us hesitate or generate some uncertainty.
Be aware that you are seeking to increase your well-being, and that asking for help is a process that requires great courage. From the very first moment, you will find a warm, understanding, and non-judgmental space that will help you understand your situation and allow you to move towards a more fulfilling life.
